Channeling My Inner Mona Lisa c. 1979
After nearly three years in my “new” house, I finally got around to painting my upstairs bathroom. Followed by installation of the requisite bathroom hardware (towel racks, tp holder, etc.) and hanging of some art, I can finally call all of my painting projects done!
While looking through my ever-growing stash of things to frame, I came across my 3rd, and my brother Greg’s 4th grade pictures. I love these old photos. Complete with a nice woodland background, they really capture that classic 1970s rust color. Somehow my mom knew to dress us in complimentary rustic colors, so we practically blend into the background. What really struck me though, was my resemblance to none other than DaVinci’s Mona Lisa. Uncanny. Don’t I look like I’m up to something?
I also hung the matching photo of Greg, a great little print that Mike and Sam gave me, a “classic” Mike Hipple photo from his swing-tilt lens phase, the wonderful photo I won at the Youth in Focus auction last weekend, and a couple other prints.
